Jessica
Mom to Raelyn Susann
February 22nd, 2011
Kansas City, Missouri

On February 8, 2011 we went in for our routine anatomy ultrasound. It was the happiest day of our lives and we were so excited to find out that we were going to be expecting a BABY GIRL!!! Brett and I looked over at the ultrasound screen and watched as our precious baby girl moved about my tummy. I don't think that Brett ever stopped smiling. Our doctors appointment followed the ultrasound and we set in the exam room waiting, talking about what we were going to start buying...we were just overwhelmed with excitement.

Hello, my name is Lauren. I am 27, the mother of 2 crazy kids and the wife to a wonderful supportive man, Josh.  We have been married 6 and a half years now. I had my daughter in 2005, suffered from an early miscarriage in 2007, and had my son in 2008.

Jessica
Mom to Maggie Marin
Born still on September 30, 2010
Kansas City, Missouri

I don't really know where the beginning or end of Maggie's story is, and I think I like it that way. Although there was a clear end to Maggie's physical journey, she is very much alive in spirit and in the fabric of our family.

Emily
Mom to Ryder Mark Schitz
May 30th, 2010
St. Louis, Missouri

I didn't think I would ever write about this experience, for more than one reason. One, I didn't even think I would lose a child, that Mark and I would lose a child. (not that anyone ever does) Then after losing a child I didn't think I would ever be able to write about their "birth story."  I worked on this for a long time, I decided not to include pictures though. I have the images in my mind. They will be. there. f-o-r-e-v-e-r. We have a few prints in a special place but I think words are enough for this post.

JoAnna
Mom to Nathan
October 9th, 2009 - October 25th, 2009
Imperial, Missouri

My husband Jonathan and I married in June of 2001; we both knew we want to be parents, but the both of us had just turned 20 so we knew we weren’t ready quite yet. I had been diagnosed with PCOS when I was around 15, and I had told Jonathan about it and explained that parenthood might not come easily, if at all.

Jennifer
Mom to Aidon William Pointer
December 12th, 2006
Marshall, Missouri

My son Aidon was born at 20 weeks on December 12, 2006 at 5:40pm. I had 4 first trimester losses in the years before I was with my husband but I was clueless to a lot of it then. I would find out I was pregnant then miscarry.

I always knew I wanted to be a mom.  When my husband Eric and I got married in 1998, we were 19 and 20 and he was still in college so we thought we would wait until he finished school to have a baby.  I had always had irregular cycles so I had a feeling it wouldn't be easy for me to get pregnant.  We both wanted to have four children, so we hoped that it wouldn't be too difficult for us to conceive.

My first pregnancy came as a shock as my boyfriend and I weren't together but just over a month. I was scared what others would think. Though we knew each other a long time and were "just friends" we took it to the next level after running back into each other at a local park.

Heather
Mommy to Madelyn Rebecca
Lived for 1.5 hours on August 28th, 2009
St. Louis, MO

Our family’s story began on May 8, 2004, the day Nathan and I promised to love and cherish each other for the rest of our lives.  As I made my vows to him, I hadn’t the faintest idea how our lives would change just over five years later through the birth of our daughter, Madelyn.  In fact, neither of us envisioned ourselves as the “having babies” type.  Our plan was to work hard, retire early, and enjoy the extra money we wouldn’t be spending on things like daycare, diapers, and college funds.

Courtney
Pregnant from September 25th-October 14th, 2008
St. Louis, MO

After many months of trying for our first child we found out on September 25, 2008 that I was finally pregnant. I was so excited. We are high school sweethearts and had been married over six years. It was finally time. We told everyone. After all what did we have to worry about? We were both young (29), healthy, and no one in our families had any problems previously with pregnancies.
