My husband and I got married in June of 2008, in July of 2008 I was referred to a Reproductive Endocrinologist (RE) because after a year off birth control I had only had two cycles. I was diagnosed with PCOS and was told I do not ovulate on my own. I was put on Clomid. I took it for two months, never having more than one follicle but at least that one was big enough I could take the trigger shot to ovulate. Both cycles failed. My third cycle on clomid when I went in for my follicle check my follicle was not big enough. They had me come in a few days later, and it still was too small for the trigger shot. So I decided to take a small break for a month or two. About three weeks after my follicle check I took a test one morning because I hadn't been feeling well and sure enough I was pregnant. We were over joyed and told everyone right away.

I decided to go to my OBGYN to make sure everything was going okay and that maybe we were just off a bit from my ovulating. Come to find out I have PCOS and I cannot ovulate on my own and I never have. We tried different drug therapies to help me ovulate, nothing helped.

Starting in December 2009, my husband and I started on the journey of using fertility shots to start our family. I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome when I was 15-years-old, and I knew it would take some challenges to get pregnant. We did the fertility treatments for three months. In February 2010 I was on my third round of fertility treatments and the doctor’s were considering the treatments as they were taking longer than a month for my ovaries to mature. However, they decided to up the dosage I was getting and I had three mature eggs.

My husband and I tried for a year on our own to become pregnant, after no success we turned to a fertility specialist.  I was diagnosed with Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).  In order to become pregnant I had to take Clomid, FSH injections and HCG injections in order to ovulate.  After 3 years of hormones and several miscarriages (more than I can count on two hands) we finally became pregnant with twins in June 2005.   We were excited and nervous at the same time.  Every couple of days I went for blood work to monitor my hormone levels.  The numbers kept doubling as they were supposed to.   Everything was going along as expected, each week that passed was a happy one.

We had been trying to get pregnant on and off for ten years-yes you read that right ten years.  We had seen two different gynecologists, and three different reproductive endocrinologists.  The results were always the same-you have PCOS.  We tried Clomid to no avail, we had hysterosalpingiograms, we had surgeries, and ultimately tried IUI with injectable infertility drugs.  Finally our second reproductive endocrinologist said “IVF is your only option” which was an option we couldn’t afford so I decided we would just give up.  Of course giving up only went as far as a few months when I found myself scouring the internet for just one more chance with a different doctor…

I am blessed with two amazing daughter's. Tianna, who was born in 2005 and Aubrianna, who was born in 2008.

In 2009 I went to the doctor because I wasn't having my period. It had been over 3 months at that time. After doing some tests I was diagnosed with PCOS. Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome. We weren't ready to have another child at that point so I started taking the birth control pill and my periods came back and became regular. In February of 2010, my husband and I decided that we wanted to start trying for our third child. We were told that it could take a year or more to get pregnant and that we may even need fertility treatments. On April 10, 2010 I took a pregnancy test. I was not expecting it to come back positive, but it did! We were in shock. We conceived in a little over a month and without any medical help. On May 4, 2010 my husband and I went in to have an ultrasound done. We were told that we were 7 weeks 3 days pregnant and that there were two babies!
