Exciting news, exciting changes!

Hey everyone!

I don't even know where to begin! I guess a good place to start is THANK YOU! Thank you for submitting your stories, for reading other's stories, for leaving encouraging comments, for helping get the word out about this new resource. Thank you, thank you, thank you! When I had this little idea, to create a place where women like us could come together, share our stories, and feel, well, normal, I had no idea how quickly it would take off. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, for your amazing support.

We are so fired up and excited around here to see all that the future hold for Faces! I just know it in my heart that Faces is going to make a huge difference, and bring hope and reassurance to so many hurting people in the months and years to come.

But we can't do it without your help!

Every single day, in the US alone, nearly 2,000 women find out that their baby has died. Many of these women leave the hospital or clinic without being given any resources at all. Then there are those like me, who were lucky enough to receive a grief packet, but found the materials out-dated and unappealing. Finding a community of other babyloss moms like me literally saved my life, but unfortunately, I had no idea it existed until weeks after my loss.

Our goal is to get information about Faces of Loss, Faces of Hope into the hands of women who have had a miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss, so that they leave the hospital or doctor's office with a place to turn. So that when they are sitting at home, recovering on the couch, they can find friendship and support right away...when they need it most. So they know they are not alone.

With the help of Sarah, owner of Red Bumble Bee, and Aunt to baby Oliver, we've created these informational postcards to get out to hospitals and clinics:

Since we are a completely volunteer-run organization, we need your help in getting these out there!

We've set up a system where you can request a pack of postcards to distribute your local hospital or doctor's office. Click here for the request form. We are recommending a $10 donation for every postcard pack requested, to help us cover the cost of professional printing and shipping, if you are able to do so (it's not "required," but encouraged!) When you fill out the form, there will be information about how to make that donation.

Each packet of postcards will also come with a starter kit of Faces business cards:

These can be given to your hospital, in case they need to contact you, or simply to carry around in your purse and hand-out to people you meet.

Your postcards will also come with a letter that includes some basic "talking points" and information about Faces, as well as appropriate contact information for your hospital; we really want to make this as easy as possible for you!

Along with the awesome new logo, you may have noticed some new buttons on the site. One is a "subscribe" button. I want to encourage every one of you to click on it and sign up for our special member's mailing list. By signing up, you'll get periodic updates, access to exclusive members-only giveaways, and more. We want to keep you, our supportors in the loop!

In fact, we want you to sign up for the list so badly, we're willing to bribe you to do so! :) Everyone who subscribes by Friday, August 27th, will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card.

Alright, that's enough information for now. Stay tuned for more exciting updates to come in the following weeks!

Thanks again for everything.

Love,
Kristin, Andrea, and the rest of the Faces team

i think these postcards are just beautiful and i love what you'll be doing with them! before you get them printed, there is a typo - the word incredibly should not have an a in it.

We aren't allowed to distrube specific companies info at my work (labor and delivery in Dallas, TX) but I created a huge list of resources to give to patients (jewlery, clubs, blogs, loss resources, NILMDTS, rememberance services, etc.) and I added your websites name as soon as I found out about it!

Woohoo! I'm getting a couple packs of postcards and donating them to the hospital where our little Evan was born and the hospital where he died. I got a packet of stuff from the 2nd hospital (including all the stuff Evan used or touched like his heartrate/bp/oxygen sensor cords, the tape measure used to determine his length after he died, the u-shaped body pillow he slept with, the blanket the hospital gave us to use the night before we let him go, etc) which included grief/support info. But nothing compared to what Faces offers. So glad you ladies are doing this! :D Here's to hoping that these reach the mothers that need them and we can make their grieving just that smallest bit easier.

I'm ordering my postcards today. This is such a wonderful site...I'm sad that our world needs such a site, but y'all have done an amazing job organizing the information for all of us and the parents that come behind us.

Love it as well! But on the postcard you have a miscarriage and 2 stillbirth mamas. Unlike the three of them, I lost my babe when he was 4 days old so wouldn't think it would apply to me?? I dunno just a thought lol
