I...I also had PPROM, very similar to Cynthia's. I ruptured at 17w5d and held onto Brendan until 23w3d. My son only lived for 49 minutes. I had never heard of PPROM before it happened to me, but I was blessed with a wonderful circle of friends through an online support group just for PPROM Queens (as we call ourselves)- many have lost children, quite a few babies have survived. But they all know the nightmare of PPROM. Those moms have become some of my closest friends ever since losing Brendan two years ago.

I don't know how much was hospital policy, or if it's how much times have changed since you delivered. Most of us are encouraged to see and hold our children, give them baths, and spend as much time as possible with them. I got to keep Brendan in my room for about a day and a half after he passed.

Thank you for sharing your story. I love the name Solomon, and its meaning. I'm so sorry for your loss.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03499066427385020150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745213873752284384.post-83362530961275118182010-11-30T19:13:47.740-08:002010-11-30T19:13:47.740-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03499066427385020150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745213873752284384.post-74396968153145507552010-10-11T08:23:13.475-07:002010-10-11T08:23:13.475-07:00HI Cynthia!

I do have photos at least!Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13649235084303183035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745213873752284384.post-25152965680994799882010-10-09T17:49:46.540-07:002010-10-09T17:49:46.540-07:00I had pPROM at 17 weeks gestation. My daughter, Nara, wasn't born until 25 weeks + 2 days July 18, 2010(due to chord prolapse), but her lungs weren't developed enough due to the lack of fluid. We only had her for 28 hours. I have just started looking on blogger the past few weeks and you are the first I have found on here for the same reason. I am so sorry that they discouraged you from seeing or holding Solomon. I wish they would have handed him to you.Cynthiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01574396157005203296noreply@blogger.com
